Encanto: Five Stars

Are you still on the fence about whether or not to watch the new hyped-up Disney movie, Encanto? Well, I can say that I debated this for a few weeks, but I do not regret giving it a chance.

First, the lesson taught in this movie is one that all age groups need to hear. It takes you on a magical journey with a young girl named Mirabel, who is without special powers, unlike the rest of her siblings.

In the film, Mirabel goes through an internal conflict because she feels unnoticed by her family. She soon notices that the magic in her family is dying, so she wants to save it, but the only way she can fix it is through forgiveness. The overall message from this movie was to love and forgive one another because we are better together than apart.

Secondly, the soundtrack of this film is superior to other Disney films. One of the top songs, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” was a record-breaker for Disney. I found it fascinating how they have many different characters singing in this song, plus all of the characters tell of their experiences with Bruno. The entire track is just a bop itself. The second you listen to it, you will have it on a loop. To add to the music, there were epic dancing scenes.

Lastly, the animation quality of this movie was some of the best work I have ever seen from Disney. For Encanto to be the 60th animation film they have created, it was well done.

While this was incredible, the fact that creators were pushing for various cultures was very telling about their effort in making this film. Creators were tremendously intentional about incorporating relatable and emotionally impacting moments, which I loved.

Altogether, this movie is a 5 out of 5 stars. No matter how many times you watch this film, you will learn something different each time.

That’s all, I’m going to watch Encanto again and you should, too!
