Kentucky drive-in to play Eras Tour

A drive-in movie theater in La Grange, Kentucky, is now offering Swifties a unique chance to see the Eras Tour performance from the comfort of their car.

The Sauerback Family Drive-In is hosting “taygating” in their giant lot for friends to sing and dance with Swift under the starlight.

Swift’s Eras Tour film is set to release on Oct. 13 following the sweeping success of her tour.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift said on social media channels back in Sept.

Her film is set exclusively for theaters as the experience at home could not replicate the concert environment.

“The theater’s ability to recreate the concert experience is likely a key reason why Swift decided to choose the big screen for her film,” Jonathan Kuuskoski, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance told CNN.

Now, Sauerback is expanding on that vision, giving fans an even more concert-like experience.

“The drive-in is a great option to enjoy the concert atmosphere with Taylor Swift. The show will go on rain or shine, just like Taylor would want,” Sauerback said on Facebook.

The film will be shown on their 92’ screen and accompanied by “fun activities and extras that make the Drive-In a special experience.”

They are still planning various ideas, including friendship bracelet making/trading, selfie stations/photo opportunities, a “22” hat giveaway each night, a best outfit contest and food and drink specials, like Swift popcorn buckets and cups.

“Our lot is designed to hold 450 cars, but we will limit sales to 300 cars per night so there is more room to sing and dance! And with cars averaging 3 Swifties each that means almost 1,000 of you singing along for an awesome experience,” Saurback said on Facebook.

The prices, set by Swift, are the same as in theaters.  Adult tickets are $19.89, a nod to Swift’s album “1989” set for re-release Oct. 27. Tickets for children and seniors are $13.13, Swift’s favorite number.

The film will be shown at the drive-in from Oct. 13 to Nov. 15.
