Mango smoothie loving Dr. Nicholson

After teaching New Testament for 16 years at Malone University in Canton, Ohio, Dr. Suzanne Nicholson moved to Asbury University to continue her career. She has been at Asbury for three years after interviewing over Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After graduating from the Asbury Theological Seminary, she is back in Wilmore to stay. “It’s just a good community and a good fit for me,” said Dr. Nicholson.

At the beginning of this fall semester, Dr. Nicholson received tenure at Asbury University. Instead of getting a renewed contract yearly, she now has a long-term standing contract.

The tenure process involves, among other things, a review of the professor’s academic portfolio, published works and research. After submission, an interview process begins with the tenure committee. The committee then makes a recommendation to the administration, which then makes a recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
