Asbury University’s athletes have a secret. Well, sort of.
On Saturday mornings, when most of campus is still asleep or catching up on homework from the week, some students are refreshing YouTube and waiting for one thing: ASDN Gametime.
Now, this isn’t the gametime you typically think of when it comes to sports. There’s no field, no opposing team, no crowd gathering in the stands. Instead, there’s a 10- to 20-minute long show featuring student-athletes being interviewed, taking part in challenges and generally having fun.
Throughout the week, a crew of five students brainstorm ideas, attend practices and film content. Then, it all gets compiled together by producer Sevasti Levenioti, who turns the footage into the final product that gets uploaded each Saturday.
Yet, a lot of students have never heard of it.
Part of the challenge is that ASDN Gametime is different from the games that get included in weekly announcements and will not get the same social media coverage that the team social media does. Instead, it lives online, waiting for students to come to it. Sometimes, even the student-athletes have missed the news.
“It’s funny because some of them don’t know that we have the show,” said producer Sevasti Levenioti. “But then when we interview them and they’re part of a fun package, they go back and watch it.”
The show is on its second season, having started in spring 2026. Now, the team hopes to build on what it started with more creative videos, more interaction with athletes and more episodes each semester.
“Doing a show like this was always a dream of mine,” said Levenioti. “As soon as I got the role, we started doing some packages and we used them for our game broadcasts. Then spring semester came, and I was like, I think it’s time to make a show.”
One of Levenoti’s favorite memories about the show actually happened the first time an episode was uploaded.
“We had done a package with the track and field team. They were about to leave for a meet when I told them the show was live,” said Levenioti. “They started watching it, and I could hear from my desk that they were laughing and enjoying the show, so I really liked that.”
That moment captured what ASDN Gametime is supposed to be: a way for athletes to step outside of their sport and for the rest of campus to see the students behind the uniform.
Now in the second and final year of her graduate program, the spring semester will be Levenioti’s last at Asbury. While her time at the university comes to an end, she hopes ASDN Gametime is only getting started.
“I want to see an increase in engagement,” Levenioti said. “But the most important thing is to connect the students and the athletes a little bit more.”
At the end of the day, ASDN Gametime is not focused on just the game. Instead, it is about giving students a reason to show up to events, support their school and look past the scoreboard. So for now, the show might be somewhat of a secret. But the crew hopes it won’t stay that way for long.
ASDN Gametime uploads most Saturday mornings on the Asbury Athletics YouTube channel. Also, visit the Asbury Sports Digital Network website to watch home games live or view event replays.
