Starting Oct. 2, Maria Brown and Esther Jadhav of the Office of Intercultural Affairs will host “Embrace Radio Hour,” a half-hour program every other week on WACW, Asbury’s online radio station. Broadcasting at noon, each show will highlight a student who belongs to one of Asbury’s intercultural groups on campus. These students will be sharing personal stories about their ethnic backgrounds, playing songs that relate to their experiences and talking about world news. The Black Student Alliance, International students, Latino Student Alliance and Asian Student Alliance are among groups participating.

“The goal of the Intercultural Affairs Office is to support, celebrate and empower our international, third culture and U.S. ethnic minority students,” stated Intercultural Affairs Coordinator Maria Brown. “This show seeks to be a platform to tell the stories of our campus through the eyes of these unique perspectives and to help our campus grow in cultural responsibility as a community by becoming more aware of the realities of our diverse students.”
