ASC Member of the Week: Katie Rutledge

Class: Vindicated

Major: English Education

Branch of ASC: Student Activities Board

Committee/Role: Vindicated Class Vice President

What is the importance of your committee/role?

My role is important because I get to take the ideas and thoughts from the Vindicated Class and help make them happen. I get to help facilitate community within my class.

What has been the best moment you’ve experienced while being involved with them?

My best moment being vice president has been watching members of our class put their handprints on a banner that shows the symbol of the Vindicated Class during the first week of class. It reminded me how many of us there are and that we all came to this place together and have been walking this journey together for over two years. It also reminded me how lucky I am to serve all of them.

What do you want other students on campus to know about your committee/branch?

I want people on campus to know that all of the class cabinets are here to work hard to achieve the desires of each class. We support the class and try to build community. That being said, the Vindicated Class cabinet wants to encourage everyone in the Vindicated Class as well as Anchored, Merciful and Visionary, and I am sure the other class cabinets feel the same way.
