Major: Media Communication & Spanish

Committee/Role: Special Events Committee Co-Chair

Branch: Student Activities Board

What is the importance of your committee/role?

As co-chair of the Special Events Committee, I help oversee the planning of homecoming, fall variety show and Legacy Games. We have a committee of about 15 students, and we meet every week to ensure planning is going smoothly and to brainstorm together. As co-chair, my main responsibility is to help lead these meetings and handle the paperwork side of planning the events.

What has been the best moment you’ve experienced while being involved with them?

When people tell me they had a good time at one of the events we planned. That’s the whole reason we do what we do; to give students an opportunity to come together and have a good time. So it is extremely rewarding when I am able to hear that we were able to accomplish what we set out to do!

What do you want other students on campus to know about your committee/branch?

We love having the opportunity to put on these events and that if anyone has ideas about events here on campus, we would love to have you join one of the SAB committees!
