Volleyball

Asbury University ended their regular season with a win against Brescia University in three straight-set victories (25-15; 25-16; 25-10). Senior Allison Rehner and freshman Madeline Morris earned nine kills each; seniors Jessie Bartlow and Lindsay Kurz ended with 29 combined assists. The Eagles await the KIAC Tournament that takes place on Nov. 14th and 15th where, they will play the winner of Cincinnati Christian and Midway at 5 p.m.

 

Men’s Soccer

Asbury advanced to the second round of the KIAC Tournament with a 6-1 win over Cincinnati Christian. Senior Garrett Davis earned the first goal for the Eagles from a free kick. Other goals came from Senior Billy Congleton and freshmen Matt Young and Grafton Hamilton (3). AU will face Point Park on Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at home.

Women’s Soccer

The Eagles moved their record to 10-6 with a 2-1 win against Berea on Nov. 4. Freshman Mia Wiersema scored her ninth goal of the season for Asbury in the 39th minute to put the Eagles up by one. Junior Teryn Wright brought her goal tally for the season to 12 when she scored the Eagles second in the 70th minute.
In the first round of the conference tournament, the Eagles advanced with a 1-0 win over Cincinnati Christian. Wright broke the tie with 13:04 remaining. The assist was credited to sophomore Rachel Bertrand. Their next game in the tournament will be on Nov. 14, against second-seeded Point Park.

Women’s Basketball

86-89 was the final score of the Asbury win over Milligan College. Junior Catie Fletcher earned 19 points while sophomore Kali Whiteside earned a career-high 13 rebounds.
Moving their record to 3-1, the Eagles took home the victory against Union College with a score of 78-89. Sophomore forward Savannah Taylor ended the game with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Kylee Gorby scored 17 points and provided six assists. Their next game will be Nov. 14 against Kentucky Wesleyan College at 7 p.m.
