Spring is officially here at Asbury University, and with it comes a packed schedule of competition all across campus.
This weekend brings the home opener for baseball on Friday, Feb. 13 at 4pm as they host Capital University. The series continues Saturday with a doubleheader at noon and 3:30 p.m. The Eagles are slated to play 41 games this season, with 25 at home. Asbury finished the 2025 season with a 7-28 record and will look to build momentum early in front of a home crowd.
Softball’s home opener follows a week later on Feb. 21, when the Eagles take on Berea College in a doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m. The team will play a 42 game season, including 20 home contests. After finishing 22-14 in 2025, Asbury enters this spring being placed fifth out of nine teams in the preseason poll, just four points behind Maryville for fourth.
Golf returns to action March 7-8 at a tournament in Nashville, TN. Three more tournaments are to follow, with the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship concluding their season April 27- 29.
Track and Field is already midseason, but their home meet will be taking place April 10 here at Asbury. The university will host again May 6-8 when the National Christian College Athletic Association hosts the National Outdoor Championships here, bringing athletes and competition from across the country.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams enter the spring with high expectations after historic debut seasons that ended in conference titles. Both teams were picked first in the preseason polls and will play 18 matches before the CCS Tournament and NCAA Regionals in April and May.
While spring sports are just taking off, winter seasons are winding down. Men’s basketball will conclude a 26 game season with a final game on Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. while women’s basketball concludes a 29 game season earlier that day at 2 p.m. Both teams will be honoring their seniors.
From opening pitches to championship meets, the spring semester brings no shortage of action for Asbury athletics.
