Art and Design will have multiple galleries opening on Feb. 2, and their receptions are scheduled for Feb. 5 at 4 to 6 p.m. and are come-and-go.
Throughout both fall and spring, students will present their work in art shows. The art shows typically have work that aligns with a theme or topic of the students’ choosing. There are multiple locations throughout Asbury’s campus where students will show their work. The locations include both the Bistro and the Kinlaw Library Lobby.
While students’ opening receptions are scheduled for Feb. 5, the four art exhibits open on Feb. 2. Receptions will be from 4 to 6 p.m and are come-and-go.
Senior Art and Design majors Ruthie Williams, Bella Forrest and Jace Williams will have their receptions together in the Bistro. Senior Marissa Green’s reception will be in the Kinlaw Library Lobby where her exhibit is also set up.
“I’m super excited to share my show with campus, and it’s something that has been a huge challenge as well as a growing experience,” said Green. “My show deals with some slightly complicated or sensitive themes, so my hope is that it clearly communicates what I want it to, and that it will resonate with students regardless of who they are and where they come from.”
Through the art shows, students have the opportunity to support their peers’ hard work in both creating the artwork as well as installing their respective exhibits. All students are welcome to attend.
