In honor of the Fall season, the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce is holding “The Great Jessamine Pumpkin Fest” for the community to enjoy.
Ronda May, who serves as the Executive Director of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce, told ABC36 regarding the event, “It kind of got the kickoff last year with an event called ‘The Great Jessamine Pumpkin’ where we cut pumpkins and lined them on mainstreet,” she said. “That event was received with so much excitement and fun that we figured, why not just add a festival at the end of it and give people a chance to go into town, which this event does.”
The event will be held in downtown Nicholasville on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature the aforementioned games and events, as well as food trucks, a petting zoo, a hay-bale maze, a Smoke House and other activities for families. The event will also have local vendors, costume contests and a chili cookoff.
May also discussed with ABC36 what the hopes of the event are. “The goal of the fest is to be completely free, family fun.” She followed, “We will have businesses doing games and contests that are all free, a small health fair, the fire department will have events there and we’ll just have a lot of fun activities in the downtown corridor.”
