The Asbury University Tumbling Team will finish up its spring season by hosting its annual Jym Jamboree (Jym Jam) event. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Asbury Tumbling team, which was officially established and sponsored by the university in 1965.
To celebrate this milestone anniversary, a special Jym Jam will take place in the Luce Center Gymnasium on April 25 at 6 p.m. and April 26 at 1 p.m.
“Jym Jam is a finale of our work throughout the season and what we did for tour,” said Tumbling Team member Trueman Livingston. “It is a mix of skills like acrobatics, trampoline, and cheer. It is also our 60th anniversary, and we are doing something special at the end of the show.”
Throughout the semester and over spring break, the Tumbling Team traveled to many different locations, schools, and churches to perform.
“We are pretty much open to wherever God calls us and how we can impact the community,” said Livingston, “One of our locations that we went to this year was an elementary school in Louisville. We also performed at Wilmore Elementary School.”
To wrap up the semester, the Tumbling Team will present Jym Jam in their home gym as well as celebrate their 60th anniversary. The event is free and open to the whole community and all students.
