Two thefts on campus

Security is reminding the campus community to secure their cars, offices and living spaces following two thefts on campus.

Director of Safety and Security David Hay sent an all-campus email on Oct. 20, informing the community of the thefts.

Both thefts occurred within the same week.

The first incident occurred on Oct. 12, and was reported as a theft from an office in Morrison Hall. The second theft, a vehicle break-in, was reported by a student on Oct. 15. The student was parked in the new Bellevue parking lot and reported that items were missing from their vehicle.

“Please remember to secure your vehicles, rooms, and offices when you are not present,” said Hay. “These thefts appeared to be crimes of opportunity.”

Hay also reminded the community that all crime reports are visible on the university’s website.
