Sequel to Freshman Formal: Sophomore Shindig

This year, a new event is taking place for Asbury sophomores: Sophomore Shindig.
“Our full theme is Sophomore Shindig: The Glow Up,” said Faithful Class President
Grace Morse. “It’s one year after our Freshman Formal, so we really want to show that
we’re not done having fun in our class after SoMu, and that we’ve had our ‘glow up.’”
The event was a spontaneous addition, according to Morse, and its details are being
kept secret until the day of the event.
“Sophomore Shindig is the sequel to Freshman Formal,” said Faithful Class Vice
President Joel Pletcher. “We added the party to the calendar last spring because we
wanted to have another large event that could appeal to the entire class after SoMu.
Paulette Black, Sam Diaz, Grace Morse and I planned the event really looking to supply
something fun and exciting to the class here in the middle of the semester.”
According to Morse, the whole event has a spontaneous and lighthearted feel to it,
encouraging the participation of all members of the Faithful class.
“The planning process was just as spontaneous, and actually occurred in a single
night,” said Morse. “We were nervous at first because we have a really tight budget and
we didn’t even know if it would be a possibility. … Now we’re fine-tuning the rest of the
details with our activities directors to make it the best we can!”
Sophomore Shindig will be held Saturday, March 7.
