Asbury makes top ten

At the beginning of September, The U.S. News & World Report came out with its annual
ranking of colleges all over the country. With 50 different rankings and lists, U.S. News aims to
help students narrow down their college search.
This year Asbury University was ranked ninth out of over 150 regional universities in the south.
Asbury is the only Christian university to make the top 10 in this category, as well as the only
Kentucky school in the top 20. Asbury also was ranked 23th in Best Value Schools and tied with
Florida Southern College for 13th in Best Undergraduate Teaching.
To determine the ranking a college receives, U.S. News investigates several areas, the most
influential being outcomes and faculty resources. Outcomes are understood as graduation rate
performance, while faculty resources refers to the overall satisfaction with the faculty. After
assessing everything the college provides for the students, U.S. News compares the universities
and scores them accordingly.
The overall score Asbury received from U.S. News was 74/100.

The Asbury Collegian is an Asbury University publication. The paper is staffed entirely by Asbury students who seek to write on topics of interest to the University and the surrounding community.
