Festival of Nations is a long-standing campus event hosted by Intercultural Life and sponsored by Student Intercultural Programs. Each year, it brings together students, campus groups and local churches to highlight the range of cultures represented at Asbury.
“Festival of Nations is a way for students to learn about each other’s cultures and enjoy fellowship and food,” said Lydia Roy, Vice President of Student Intercultural Programs.
The event provides students with the opportunity to “try yummy food from a variety of cultures, learn more about different cultures and different parts of the world and see and celebrate all the wonderful cultures God has gifted to us,” said Roy.
The evening centers on cultural exchange, giving students a space to both share their own backgrounds and engage with others. Through conversations, displays and food, students have the opportunity to encounter a wide variety of traditions.
For many students, the event is both informative and enjoyable.
“My favorite thing about Festival of Nations is being able to learn about other cultures and eating good food,” Roy said.
The Festival of Nations will take place in the Shaw CLC auditorium on April 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to come, try something new and be a part of the celebration.
