Worship Him at Midnight (WHAM) will have its monthly service on Friday, Feb. 27 from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. in Hughes Auditorium.
WHAM is held three to four times a semester. The worship service is student-led, with Asbury’s Worship band performing the music, and speakers consisting primarily of fellow students. At these services, students gather in the evening to worship, pray and listen to testimonies or sermons.
“I love WHAM because it is a time that we all get to collectively come together, and I love to hear all the voices of God’s children singing together,” said freshman Abigail Thompson. “It also gives me a chance to sit in silence and solitude with the Lord.”
While students are given other FLEX credit opportunities and other events to congregate, WHAM continues to be one of the more popular events on campus. WHAM has been recognized by professors, students and other college students from local universities. It gives students the opportunity to focus on their spiritual well-being in a collective space and think past their schoolwork.
“WHAM provides an amazing opportunity to be intentional about worshipping the Lord,” said junior Spiritual Life Assistant (SLA) Sidney Hansen. “There is not one WHAM I have walked away from and not felt closer to God; seeing and listening to other believers sing about their faith is more than enough to increase my personal faith.”
All students are invited to attend the worship service on Feb. 27 in Hughes Auditorium.
