It is once again time for Asbury University’s annual Set Apart Week, Asbury’s spring emphasis week, which focuses on the Christian call to holiness.
This year’s theme is “Every Day Holy.” Building on the purpose of the week, Set Apart Week messages will address what it means to practically live out the holiness that Christians are called to in everyday life. This year’s chapel speaker will be World Gospel Mission president-elect John Rineheimer.
According to University Chapel Coordinator Rachel VanLandingham, Rineheimer brings both experience and intentionality to this year’s theme.
“John is a great speaker and has done a lot of research for his doctorate on Gen Z and their spiritual formation,” stated VanLandingham. “He has personally impacted my walk with Christ when he spoke at Asbury when I was a student and when I worked at WGM with him after college,” she continued.
In addition to daytime chapel services, John Rineheimer and Jeannie Banter will co-lead evening services on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. Wednesday’s service will serve as a night of reflection and testimony, focusing on how God has been speaking to the Asbury community throughout the week.
Set Apart Week has been thoughtfully planned for and prayed over by the Asbury Spiritual Life team. The week is designed to create intentional space for students, faculty and staff to pause from the busyness of the semester and reflect on how faith is lived out beyond chapel walls and into daily routines.
