Fall Formal returns

The Student Activities Cabinet (SAC) will host their annual fall formal event on Nov. 8 from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Walt and Rowena Shaw Collaborative Learning Center (CLC).

The Fall Formal has become a tradition at Asbury, with the CLC decorated with elaborate decorations to fit the theme. In the past, there have been many different themes including classic Hollywood and a retro theme with “Fly Me to the Moon.” This year’s theme is “Swan Lake,” an elegant, almost winter wonderland theme.

The formal gives students the opportunity to get dressed up, dance with friends and de-stress after hitting the halfway point of the semester.

“After a long week of school and other activities, I found it to be such a relief and it was definitely the highlight of my week,” said junior Daegan Flamm. “Seeing all of my peers letting go of outside stress, dancing freely and enjoying ourselves was such a joyful experience.”

Aside from music and dancing, students can expect mini cheesecake bars, macarons, and refreshments, such as Ale-8 and water, to be provided.

The Fall Formal is open to every student. Tickets will be sold every day at lunchtime outside of the Eatery this week. Students can also buy tickets at the door, but there is a chance that the tickets could be more expensive.

“We are all so excited for students to enjoy Fall Formal, which is our most extravagant event of the year,” said senior SAC member Karly Fetter. “Join us for a night to remember on Nov. 8!”
