WHAM monthly service being held in Hughes Auditorium

As another month of the school year comes to a close, students are holding the monthly worship night “Worship Him At Midnight,” also known as WHAM, tonight, Oct. 24, in Hughes Auditorium from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. The event invites all students to take a break and listen to worship music held by their fellow classmates. WHAM also gives students an opportunity to receive an additional FLEX Credit for their chapel attendance totals.

Students from all of campus have expressed excitement regarding the event. Kidron Jones, a member of the Beloved Class and a Resident Assistant in Trustees, is one of those students. “WHAM means a lot to me,” he said. Jones followed, “WHAM’s a time for us to really come together and really hear what God has to say to us. In a time where that’s incredibly hard, we get the opportunity to be quiet and hear his Word.”

Ellie Haseloff, a member of the Restored Class, shared this excitement. “Chapel is an event in our routine that is required and often that adjusts our heart posture entering it,” she said. “In chapel all the lights are on, and everyone is looking everywhere. At WHAM, students are a lot more eager to spend their own time with God and aren’t paying attention to anyone else,” Haseloff continued.

Caleb Arnold, a member of the Renewed Class and a Spiritual Life Advisor in Trustees, as well as a Worship Arts major who often partakes in worship events on campus such as WHAM, shared the same anticipation as his elder classmates. “WHAM excites me, because it’s a great time of worship,” Arnold said. “I’ve always left feeling the presence of God in a way I didn’t expect. I can always count on WHAM to get me closer to God, and I never know what I’m going to get out of it.”

All students are invited to WHAM tonight in Hughes Auditorium.
