The Student Activities Cabinet (SAC) is once again putting on the Movie on the Green event on Sept.13 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m on Reasoner Green.
For the past couple of years, it has become a tradition at Asbury for students to gather on the green to watch a movie. The event embraces the typical American drive-in movie experience, with people gathered around a large screen to watch a feature. However, instead of watching from a car, the movie will be played on a projector in front of the half-circle in front of Morrison and Reasoner Hall.
Because it takes place outside, students are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, pillows or other seating for comfort. In addition, SAC will be providing refreshments and snacks such as popcorn and candy.
Previously, movies like “The Lego Movie,” “The Princess Diaries,” “La La Land,” “The Incredibles” and “How to Train Your Dragon” have been shown. The film playing at this year’s Movie on the Green is “Tangled.”
Aside from the movie, there will be a raffle where students can win prizes.
The Movie on the Green is a free event that welcomes everyone, and has historically been one of the more popular events on campus. It gives students a break from their courses and an opportunity to relax with their peers. Students can bring their blankets and friends and come to this event on Sept. 13 at Reasoner Green.
