Committee/role: Student Chaplain for the Salvation Army Student Fellowship

What is the importance of your committee/role?

The Salvation Army Student Fellowship (SASF) is a place for all students to come, do homework, play games and fellowship. We strive to put God first in all we do. We love God, love people and of course love food.

What has been the best moment you’ve experienced while being involved with them?

Some of my best memories have been during retreats and ministry weekends. My all-time favorite is going to Santonio Corp in Texas with the SASF. We got to help run a fiesta and performed for the community.  As a group of students, we got to pour out God’s love through painting faces, serving food and, my personal favorite, dancing and singing!

What do you want other students on campus to know about your committee/branch?

All are welcomed to everything we do. Every Thursday, we have a tradition of having a family dinner. The local Danville Salvation Army cooks a delicious meal for us to fellowship over. We pray together, eat together and share together. The SASF allows for any student to develop and foster the gifts and talents given by God through the excellent leadership of the Fitzgeralds.
